The UHA donated geoduck to the Passions fundraiser on September 27, 2019. This fundraiser is for the Dr. Peter Aids Foundation and it raises money for individuals who are HIV positive. Each year, the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation prepares in the neighborhood of 96,000 meals for approximately 500 people living with the complications of HIV/AIDS as well as mental illness, and housing insecurity. Now in its 16th year, Passions has raised more than $1.5-million for the Centre, thanks in part to generous sponsors in the community, including presenting sponsor Scotiabank.
Vancouver’s top restaurants and chefs join forces to raise money. The UHA donated geoducks to two different restaurants including Tojo’s and West Restaurant. Chef Hidekazu Tojo prepared geoduck gunkan while Chef Bobby Milheron prepared a geoduck tostada. The UHA enjoys the opportunity to donate geoduck to fundraising events like Passions because we can connect with top chefs while also being part of a good cause.
